Lorne Surf Camp – Building Skills, Confidence & Independence

Our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students attend Lorne Surf Camp, an exciting outdoor education experience that grows with students as they progress through the school.

For our Year 3/4s, the focus is on building confidence in the water, starting with boogie boarding, beach safety, and fun, structured activities that encourage teamwork, resilience, and early steps towards independence.

By the time students reach Year 5/6, their skills and self-reliance are extended with the opportunity to move from boogie boards to surfboards, learning to read waves and ride them with confidence. The experience also includes a tent sleep-out, giving students the chance to further develop responsibility, decision-making skills, and independence in a supportive environment.

Across our 3-6 year levels, Lorne Surf Camp is a valuable part of our outdoor education program, combining adventure, skill-building, and the life lessons that come from working together and challenging ourselves in the great outdoors.
